About
Alyssa Suzanne Desroches, LCSW, LICSW is a neurodiversity-affirming therapist who specializes in working with professional, driven neurodivergent adults and parents navigating the balance between ambition and emotional well-being. Alyssa is licensed in Connecticut (LCSW), Massachusetts, and Rhode Island (LICSW), offering virtual therapy across all three states. With advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Alyssa helps clients heal from past experiences that continue to influence self-worth, confidence, and relationships. Her approach integrates trauma-informed care, parts work, and mindfulness, tailored for high-achieving adults who appear to “have it all together” on the outside but often feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or disconnected inside. As a neurodivergent clinician herself, Alyssa brings lived understanding and professional expertise to her work with adults with ADHD and autism. She provides a compassionate and validating space where clients can unlearn shame-based narratives, reconnect with their strengths, and develop tools that actually work for their brains and lives. Alyssa holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and has over a decade of clinical experience in private practice and community mental health. Her style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity.

If you’re someone who looks like you have it all together, but underneath you’re exhausted from holding it all...it’s okay. You don’t have to keep pushing through on your own. I work with driven, high-performing adults (many of whom are parents or professionals) who feel overwhelmed, stuck in self-doubt, or disconnected from their own needs. Maybe you’ve always been the one others rely on, but you rarely feel seen or supported yourself. Maybe you’ve learned to mask your emotions or your neurodivergence to fit in, but it’s starting to feel unsustainable. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in both professional expertise and lived understanding. As a neurodivergent therapist, I know how healing it can be to work with someone who truly gets it. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and beliefs that keep you feeling small or “not enough,” and use tools like EMDR, mindfulness, and parts work to help you heal from the inside out. Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you come home to yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and build a life that actually fits you. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, confident, and at ease in your own skin, I’d love to help you get there.

Alyssa is well versed in supporting folxs with neurodivergence; she's the go-to clinician I refer clients to when they're dealing with ADHD, or AUDHD burnout- especially when the client is in a leadership role, as this is something she has professional and personal experience with. She conducts herself very professionally, with a warmth, and realness that's refreshing, and gives a great calming sense of safety.

Alyssa offers a true neuro-affirming approach. She gets it, she gets the struggles and the triumphs of living in a world that is not designed for your brain.
Veltimar Dossat, LMHC
Alyssa embodies the type of warm and authentic therapy that I would want for myself and my family members or friends. When you speak with her, you can tell that she knows her craft inside and out but she is not hitting you over the head with it. I think that this is incredibly important for clients taking the brave step in seeking therapy- yes, they want an expert but they also would like someone who they can relate to. Who they can feel at ease with, outside of the hectic day-to-day of their life.
