About
Andi Goundry is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland who specializes in working with children, adolescents, teens, and families. She supports clients navigating anxiety, emotional dysregulation, behavioral outbursts, low mood, social stress, and family transitions. Andi’s work is grounded in the belief that behavior communicates a need, and meaningful change happens when kids feel safe, understood, and empowered with practical skills. Her approach is warm, strengths-based, and developmentally informed. She integrates evidence-based strategies with creative, child-centered interventions such as play-based work, games, art, and other expressive activities to build emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, and healthier relationship patterns. Andi also offers telehealth-friendly options when appropriate, using engaging, interactive tools to help kids and teens connect and make progress even outside an office setting. Andi values caregiver involvement and collaborates with parents and caregivers through clear communication, shared goals, and actionable strategies that translate into daily life at home and at school. She is passionate about helping families feel more connected, supported, and equipped to navigate challenges with greater calm and resilience.

Hi—I’m Andi, an LGPC in Maryland, and I help kids, teens, and families who feel stuck in big emotions, constant stress, or recurring conflict. If your child worries a lot, shuts down, melts down, or seems “fine” on the outside but overwhelmed on the inside, you’re not alone—and there is a way forward that doesn’t rely on shame or just “trying harder.” In sessions, I create a calm, safe space where kids can be fully themselves. I’m warm and supportive, but also practical and goal-focused. We’ll slow down, get curious about what behavior is communicating, and build a real-life toolbelt for emotional regulation, confidence, and healthier relationships. I use evidence-based approaches and child-centered methods—play, games, creative activities, and talk—so therapy feels approachable and effective. Telehealth options are available when helpful. I also partner closely with caregivers. You’ll get clear communication, doable strategies, and shared goals—because lasting change happens when the support system feels empowered, not judged. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands deeply feeling kids and wants to help your family feel calmer, more connected, and more confident, I’d love to help.

Catherine Kioi, LCPC
Andi is a great therapist. She is warm and caring, and she works hard to give her clients the care they deserve. She is knowledgeable in multiple modalities (person centered therapy, play therapy, EMDR, video game therapy, art therapy, etc.), which enable her to work with children, teens and families. She is constantly applying for new trainings to enhance her skills and give her more tools to use in each of her sessions. I trust that Andi will be a great addition to your network.
