About Anna | She/her

Dr. Anna Urbaniak is a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed her internship at the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System and is certified by the Telebehavioral Health Institute (TBHI). Dr. Anna specializes in evidence-based treatments for anxiety-related conditions, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, and body-focused repetitive behaviors such as hair-pulling (trichotillomania) and skin-picking (excoriation). Her clinical expertise includes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). In her practice, Dr. Anna tailors treatment to meet each person’s needs, often incorporating approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and appropriate use of humor. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change and works collaboratively with clients, recognizing the courage it takes to engage in challenging but effective treatments. Dr. Anna also brings a unique lens to her work as an immigrant, providing a culturally sensitive and supportive space for individuals navigating diversity- or immigration-related issues. She has presented at organizations including the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders and the New Jersey Psychological Association, and was featured on the “Psychology America” podcast with Dr. Alexandra Miller. Dr. Anna is committed to helping individuals move toward a life aligned with their values, with greater confidence, clarity, and resilience.

Message to clients

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist who works with individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, PTSD, panic, phobias, insomnia, and habits like hair-pulling (Trichotillomania). If your mind feels like it never slows down, if you find yourself avoiding things you used to enjoy, or if past experiences are interfering with the present—I’m here to help. I use evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). These aren’t just clinical terms—they’re practical, research-supported tools that we’ll use together to help you feel more grounded, present, and in control of your life. This is a space where you can be honest about what’s hard. Whether you’re dealing with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming worry, difficulty sleeping, or daily stress that feels unmanageable, we’ll work together to understand what’s happening and create realistic strategies that support your goals and values. Therapy doesn’t have to be about fixing something that’s “wrong”—it can be about building a better relationship with yourself, learning new ways to respond to challenges, and creating space for the things that matter most. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something to shift, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Let’s take that first step together.
