About
Cassandra Goar, LPC, is licensed in Colorado and Wyoming, providing telehealth psychotherapy to clients in both states. She is a compassionate and skilled trauma and grief therapist based in Denver, Colorado. Cassandra uses a combination of trauma-focused approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to help clients heal. IFS helps clients identify and integrate different parts of themselves, while EMDR reprocesses painful memories and shifts the negative beliefs tied to trauma. By fostering a collaborative, client-centered environment, Cassandra empowers clients to build healthier relationships with themselves and others, supporting them as they grow, heal, and transform.

Message to clients
“I’ve worked with other therapists on my anxiety, but never saw lasting change—no one, including me, thought to address my trauma.” I hear this from so many clients, and it highlights something crucial: anxiety and depression are often symptoms of something deeper. My work focuses on getting to the root of the issue, not just managing the surface-level symptoms. Trauma isn’t always about a single event—it’s about how your body and mind experienced and held that event, often outside of conscious awareness. Many people have done years of personal work and still feel stuck. When this happens, unresolved trauma is often the missing piece. I have completed extensive training in trauma treatment and specialize in helping clients heal from the long-standing effects of painful or overwhelming experiences. My approach draws primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), both of which help integrate the mind and body’s responses to trauma for lasting change. The result of this deeper healing work often includes improved self-worth, more fulfilling relationships, and significant decreases in anxiety and depression. In addition to trauma work, I am deeply passionate about supporting people through grief and loss. Grief naturally intersects with trauma—every trauma holds an element of grief, though not every grief involves trauma. Holding space for both allows for profound healing, helping clients move toward greater self-understanding, compassion, and emotional freedom.

Andrea Perleberg LPC
Cassie is a warm, approachable, and highly knowledgeable clinician who brings both compassion and expertise to her work. We attended graduate school together and continue to consult on clinical cases, and I deeply trust her professionalism and clinical judgment. Cassie is EMDR-trained and takes an integrated, whole-person approach to each case, demonstrating strong skills in case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment planning. I would confidently refer clients to her, knowing they will receive thoughtful, individualized care.
