Message to clients
My ideal client would be willing to put in the effort required to achieve a healthy and happy mental state. Not every population I see has this mindset. I believe that by building trust and rapport and having the client witness their progress, the motivation to reach personal goals will improve. Although I am trained to work with most populations and feel comfortable doing so, my specialty lies with those suffering from anxiety. You can expect my stylized therapy to challenge your thoughts, fears, and behaviors through cognitive restructuring and behavioral therapy. I incorporate homework in the form of journaling prompts, worksheets, and keeping track of Exposure and Response Prevention exercises to help you track your progress. I have been trained in relaxation skills, including diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, mental imagery, mindfulness, and Heart Rhythm Meditation. These and other coping skills will help you ease anxiety while uncovering deeper issues. Many factors contribute to mental health. Some are biologically based, while others are environmentally based. Some are a little of both.
