About
Emily Devita is a psychotherapist that deeply honours cultural complexity, lived experiences, and the importance of belonging. She integrates modalities like Psychodynamic theory, ACT, EFT, and CBT, always through a mindful and trauma-informed lens. However, it is with utmost importance to highlight a deep respect of a clients' inner wisdom as central to her work. Her education in psychology and social work helps a deepened understanding of the intricacies of the mind-body-environment-systems connection. She performs in an eclectic style through a range of therapeutic modalities, integrating them thoughtfully to meet the unique needs of each client.

Message to clients
I am passionate about the fact that we are all complex and deeply nuanced. Therapy is a space to feel safe and supported, and start making sense of what you're going through. In our work together, healing may come not only from insight, but also through connection; to self, others, or something greater - to what matters most to you. Many of the clients I work with are navigating questions surrounding identity, self-worth, or life transitions. Some feel disconnected, or are working through powerful, big emotions, including anxiety and depression. We will look at not just symptoms, but root causes, allowing deeper healing to take place. I believe therapy works best when it’s collaborative, grounded in trust, and shaped by your unique story. You deserve to be seen, heard, and to heal in a way that feels true to you. Your story is what makes our sessions powerful.

Emily is a therapist who is open minded and willing to learn about the experiences of clients and meeting them where they are at in their journeys. She is emphatic, attuned and brings a trauma informed approach in her work to strengthen her understanding of not only the clients story but social economic factors that can contribute to their lived experiences.
