About
Grayson Wallen is a California based Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified Gottman Therapist and has focused his career to helping adult survivors of childhood trauma work through complicated emotions and conflicted relationships. Grayson also has significant experience helping people work through their feelings and faith together, especially after seasons of doubt, spiritual trauma and reconstruction. He draws from personal and professional training to help create therapy atmospheres that are experientially healing and promotes healing from the inside out. Grayson’s formal training is in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy but he also has clinical training and expertise using Emotion Focused Couples Therapy as well as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. All of these philosophies of therapy account for, help and soothe traumatic experiences in a relationship focused way, either with a partner in couples therapy or the ways that trauma places functional limits in the therapy relationship with the therapist. Grayson is gentle and an expert in helping people see these patterns of relating with compassion and without shame, leading to healing and change that actually sticks.

Message to clients
I help people apply researched best practices to their relationship to understand what’s holding them back from living a good life by making meaning of their conflicts, emotions and past. I help you get to the bottom of what brings you to therapy to give you the most relief in your love, work and play as soon as possible. I am engaged, honest and collaborative in sessions; I am silent when I need to be but not passive. I believe therapy needs to be helpful and efficient, leading to you living your life outside and without therapy. I will work with you to understand what’s going on and then we create goals together as well as a loose timeline on how often I think we need to meet, to make your goals happen. People often report that sessions with me are more helpful than they expected them to be. I also have several 5-star Google Reviews at Grayson Wallen Professional Counseling if you wanted to see what real people are saying about me and my work.

Grayson is a deeply compassionate therapist who is skilled in helping individuals and clients face the patterns underlying their suffering and then take the brave steps toward healing. He is clear and fair in his work, neither coddling nor harsh , but truly trusting of his clients and the process. He is a trusted colleague and clear referral choice. I especially love collaborating with him on cases and groups as his insight and integrity stands out.
