Heather Bourne is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). She earned her Master of Art in Somatic Counseling from Naropa University and is passionate about supporting clients as they reconnect with the wisdom of their body. Within the rigidity and fast pace of our capitalistic society, Heather understands that many of us can feel challenged. Because of this, Heather is interested in supporting clients to use therapy as a practice ground to advocate for their needs and cultivate the skills to safely become more in touch with their bodies, their intuitions, and more awake to their own wisdom. Heather works with individuals, couples/relationships, and facilitates groups through a somatic, attachment oriented lens. She assists clients in slowly building awareness of their bodies, in order to develop trust and meet protective armoring with compassion. Heather specializes in working with trauma, attachment wounding, all gender sexual challenges, and relational difficulties. She has experience in community mental health working with people who identify as Autistic, ADHD, and/or highly sensitive. She received training in the following psychotherapy modalities: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. As a certified yoga instructor, Heather integrates movement and yoga into sessions when appropriate, to support with both creative expression and grounding. Lastly, she is a certified Acudetox practitioner, which is a form of ear acupuncture used to help clients process trauma and support blocked energy channels in the body.
If talk therapy has felt draining for you in the past, I offer a different approach. As a somatic therapist, I believe the most powerful way to heal is by integrating the body with the mind. This approach helps you process your past in a deeper, more holistic way, so you can make lasting progress toward your goals. In our work together, we’ll explore the challenges that have been holding you back and identify the negative beliefs that are keeping you stuck. Through a collaborative and creative process, we’ll work to free you from those emotional blocks, allowing you to move forward and manifest your dream life. I understand that sharing emotions stored in the body—like shame or guilt—can feel intimidating, but my mission is to hold a compassionate space for you as you feel and release those emotions, ultimately helping you forgive yourself and embrace a new story. Therapy isn’t about finding the “right” way to heal; it’s about discovering what feels right for you. Together, we’ll explore different forms of self-expression and help you align with your authentic self. My greatest joy is creating a safe space where you can reconnect with the wisdom of your body. In today’s world, many of us experience stress, disconnection, and relational challenges. Heart-centered therapy is a transformative tool that can help you reclaim your sense of agency and awaken your inner wisdom. If you’re ready to explore this approach, I’d love to connect for a free consultation.
