Dr. Heather Finley is a licensed psychologist who specializes in bridging the gap between medicine and psychology. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, she helps individuals living with chronic conditions—such as insomnia, chronic pain, and anxiety—find relief and improve their overall quality of life. Drawing from her extensive experience in behavioral medicine, Dr. Finley provides both individual and group-based care that is focused, practical, and time-limited. Her approach blends evidence-based strategies with cultural humility and deep respect for each client’s inner wisdom and resilience. By exploring deeply held values, she collaborates with clients to support meaningful internal and external change. In addition to treating insomnia using CBT-i, her sessions often incorporate clinical hypnosis and reflective dialogue that foster insight, motivation, and lasting results. Dr. Finley is certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is a Diplomate in Behavioral Sleep Medicine. She is also a PSYPACT-licensed provider, allowing her to serve clients in Vermont and in more than 40 participating states via telehealth.
Life with chronic health conditions, sleep problems, or persistent anxiety can feel exhausting—especially when you're trying so hard to keep everything together. If you're looking for a therapist who understands how mind, body, and spirit are interconnected, who values your cultural perspective, and who believes your voice and experiences matter, I may be a good fit for you. I see therapy as a collaboration. You're the expert in your body and your experiences—and I’m here as a partner in your health, a member of your care team and support network. Together, we’ll work to reconnect you with what matters most, access your innate healing abilities, strengthen your confidence, and help you feel great about who you are at your core. My approach is warm, practical, and focused on helping you move forward in ways that feel empowering and sustainable. I’ll support you in getting unstuck, trusting your capabilities, bouncing back from setbacks, and recognizing the strengths you already have. My goal is to help you get out of your own way and see yourself as someone who is adaptive, capable, beautiful, and worthy of care and healing.
