About
Jacob is a psychotherapist for adults looking to discover the best version of themselves. His specialities include addressing work stress/burnout, relationship issues, trauma/PTSD, men’s issues, and improving communication/boundaries. High-achievers, people-pleasers, and life-transitioners often find their way into his practice. He tends to use psychodynamic, CBT, EMDR, and humanistic approaches in therapy, but honestly, all the schooling and training in the world don't mean much if the therapist just isn't a good fit for you. And it all starts with getting to know each other (and that's a two way street - therapy isn’t going to help much if the person you’re talking to is just like a brick wall). Jacob offers gently challenging, emotionally-attuned therapy for people who are hungry to connect the dots strewn throughout their life to reveal the big picture.

I’m Jacob, a therapist in NYC and the founder of LightLine Therapy. I work with high-achievers who look successful on paper but feel overwhelmed, anxious, burnt out, or stuck in patterns they just can't seem to escape. Most of the people who walk into my office would identify themselves as ambitious, driven, and a little too dependent on optimizing and intellectualizing every problem they come across. My job is to help you unravel the complicated, call out the excuses you tell yourself, and identify the barriers holding you back from living the life you really want to live. Because you're you, you could probably keep pushing through on your own. But you're not going to feel any happier unless you make a real change. So if you need more than a safe and supportive environment, and you’re tired of wasting time trying to solve things on your own, I’m your person.
