About
Jeannette York, M.A., LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than fifteen years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families create stronger, healthier relationships. She began her clinical career at the Neighborhood Involvement Program in Minneapolis, where she provided therapy for adults who had experienced sexual abuse as children. That early work deeply shaped her understanding of trauma and resilience and continues to inform her practice today.
Following her time in Minnesota, Jeannette worked in hospice care, supporting patients and their families through the emotional and spiritual challenges of end-of-life transitions. After relocating to Los Angeles, she joined the Southern California Counseling Center, where she treated clients coping with a wide range of issues, including depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality traits, parenting struggles, and relationship conflicts.
In 2009, Jeannette opened her private practice in Toluca Lake, California, where she focuses on couples, families, and adult siblings. Her approach emphasizes open communication, empathy, and the courage to address long-standing patterns that block connection and trust.
Jeannette is known for her calm presence, clear insight, and ability to help clients feel both supported and challenged in meaningful ways. She offers in-person sessions in her Toluca Lake office as well as secure online therapy for clients throughout California and South Carolina.
