Dr. Jennifer Cain holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has experience working with people of all ages. She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. She specializes in trauma, attachment, parenting/children, and evaluation. Dr. Cain completed her 2000-hour pre-doctoral internship at a center for toddlers and preschoolers that focused on trauma and attachment, and completed two post-doctoral supervised work experiences, one in neuropsychological evaluation and the other conducting psychotherapy at a community mental health center. Both her masters thesis and doctoral dissertation were on posttraumatic stress disorder. She also has experience treating psychological trauma and chronic pain in people who experienced work accidents and motor vehicle accidents. She has additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR- a treatment for trauma), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP- a treatment for OCD), and tele-mental health. She has also received additional training in somatic interventions, which help release stored emotions from the body. Dr. Cain’s advocacy work addressing the ethical reporting of child trauma and crimes against children has been featured by the Center for Journalism Ethics. She has created and taught courses to foster and adoptive parents on trauma, PTSD, and attachment, and has an ebook on Amazon to help parents get their children to listen to them better. Dr. Cain is licensed to practice psychology in Ohio and New York, and is a registered telehealth psychologist in Florida, and is currently accepting clients.
