About Katie | She/her

Katie has been in the mental health field since 2011 working with at-risk adolescents and the mentally ill population during her Bachelor's program in Psychology at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. It was here that Katie discovered her passion for helping people discover their innate strengths and reveled in watching clients find their light. Initially thinking she wanted to work with kids, Katie graduated in 2014 with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy with a Post Graduate Certification in Counseling Children and Adolescents from Regis University in Denver. After having a few couples in internship and experiencing the lightness and love in the room when couples can finally find each other and connect through their struggles, Katie was moved to focus more on couples and individuals struggling with relationships. After graduation, Katie opened her private practice in Colorado. Life moved Katie to Georgia and then eventually to Charleston where after working in group private practices, Katie decided to open her solo practice. Throughout the past ten years in the mental health field, Katie has gained experience with at-risk children, adolescents, parents, mental illness, the homeless population, crises, and couples.

Message to clients

Life is hard. It's not meant to always be easy but I believe we discover who we are in those hard moments. We are the product of our experiences and those who have influenced us. Sometimes we learn things to help us through certain parts of our life that we may not need anymore. I believe that we all have a story to tell and what it comes down to is how we want to tell it. You are the narrator of your own story and you have the power to change the story whenever you want. I help clients shed old beliefs and stories that don't serve them anymore. We work on switching the script in your story. My job is to help you uncover your own innate strength and assist you in connecting with that. The answers don't come from me, they always come from you. I'm just here to help you uncover them. I greatly enjoy working with couples looking to find their common ground and assist them in connecting more deeply. I also help individuals with things like anxiety, relationships, life transitions, and confidence.
