About Katie | She/her

Katie is a trauma-competent therapist committed to providing in-depth, high-quality care that honors the complexity of each individual’s lived experience. Grounded in a trauma-informed, justice-oriented, and decolonized framework, her work centers on creating a safe, compassionate space for healing through collaboration, body-based practices, and collective care. In addition to her clinical work, she leads workshops and talks on trauma, mental health, and cultural resilience to empower individuals and communities. She is also deeply invested in training and mentoring the next generation of therapists, helping them build the confidence, skills, and cultural awareness needed to become effective agents of healing. She is a certified complex trauma therapist, trained in polyvagal therapy, EMDR, and somatic practices—each modality serving as a pathway to support deeper, more holistic healing. At the heart of everything she does is a commitment to fostering meaningful, lasting change for individuals, families, and the systems that hold them.

Message to clients

As a fluent Vietnamese speaker and someone with a refugee immigrant background, I deeply understand how our histories, cultures, and identities shape our mental health. I’m passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for AAPI and immigrant communities and am committed to expanding access to culturally responsive care. I honor the strength it takes to seek support, especially in systems that haven’t always seen or served us. I approach therapy through an anti-oppressive, antiracist lens, centering your lived experiences with compassion, respect, and humility. I believe healing is not just individual—it’s collective. Whether you’re navigating intergenerational trauma, identity, family dynamics, or life transitions, I’m here to walk alongside you. I want to see you in your wholeness, to hold space for your pain and joy, and to support you in finding the path forward that feels most true to you. You deserve to feel seen, safe, and supported. If you’re ready, I’m here.

Katie is on my short list of therapists to send people to- especially when the person is a good friend or someone close to me that I cannot personally treat. She was my 2nd intern over two decades ago. She now has her own flourishing practice. Her talent was evident from the very start.

Katie is an incredible therapist with a solid science based approach to helping clients. She uses a cognitive behavioral approach blended with EMDR as a way of addressing common concerns as well as more severe pathology and trauma with a seamless, accepting, and comforting style. She is by far one of the strongest clinicians I have worked with and has successfully moved clients beyond healing and into thriving. If we weren’t colleagues I would want her to be my own therapist! She’s remarkably strong and poised in her approach to mental health.

She is excellent and does a great job of helping the neuropsychological patients that we refer over to her practice. Her practice offers a wide range of specialization backgrounds and serves a robust age range of patients, as well as offers services in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. I cannot recommend her services more!
