About Mati | She/her

Mati Sicherer, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor and seasoned therapist who specializes in working with individuals, couples, and parents seeking greater clarity, connection, and confidence in their lives and relationships. With advanced training in sex therapy, relationship counseling, and neurodiversity-informed care, Mati brings a deeply compassionate and practical approach to her work. She is especially skilled at supporting neurodiverse couples, parents of children with special needs, and those navigating complex systems such as IEPs and 504 plans. Her work is rooted in a belief that emotional and sexual intimacy are fundamental human needs—not luxuries—and that meaningful change happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. Mati’s background includes postgraduate training in sex therapy and training in couples therapy methods, including the Gottman Method. She is also the author of two books published by Routledge Press that support therapists in working more effectively with parents and families navigating special education systems. Warm, collaborative, and affirming of all identities and relationship structures, Mati creates a space where clients can show up fully—messy parts and all—and feel empowered to grow. Her work is grounded in clinical expertise, lived empathy, and a deep respect for the unique story each person brings into the therapy room.

Message to clients

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—from yourself, your partner, or your child—you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. I help people find clarity and connection in the parts of life that matter most: intimacy, parenting, communication, and self-understanding. Maybe you're part of a neurodiverse couple struggling to feel heard. Maybe you're a parent navigating the overwhelm of IEP meetings or the emotional load of raising a child with special needs. Maybe you’re longing for more closeness, pleasure, or peace in your relationships—or in yourself. Whatever brings you here, I offer a space that’s warm, judgment-free, and deeply respectful of your lived experience. In our work together, we’ll untangle what’s feeling complicated, make room for the hard conversations, and build tools that actually work in your real life. You don’t have to show up perfect. You just have to show up. I’m here to walk with you—with honesty, compassion, and curiosity—as you move toward a life that feels more connected, more empowered, and more you. Reach out when you’re ready. I’d be honored to work with you.
