About Michael | He/him

Mike's journey includes service in the US Air Force as a pilot and working in the software industry as a developer and a Director of Engineering. He is married and has four grown children. Below that surface he has navigated many personal challenges within himself, his family and work space. From this life experience, empathy and understanding have informed Mike's practice. Mike specializes in couples counseling, men's counseling, addiction counseling and family counseling. He blends expertise and life experience to give his clients a unique and customized therapeutic experience.

Message to clients

All of my clients all experience a warm, inviting and reciprocal therapeutic relationship. I listen deeply and reflect with compassion. I named my practice for this experience: A Warming Hut in Storms of Life. All of my work is informed by emotionally focused therapy, attachment theory and solutions work. I help clients go deep, understand their history and how their present feelings and thoughts have roots in the wounds and trauma of our pasts. This process helps my clients to gain control of their thoughts and feelings in the present to meet their current circumstances. If you experience conflict in your relationship, if you are a man struggling with the meaning and stress of adulthood, fatherhood, if you struggle with maintaining sobriety from whatever substance or behavioral addiction that afflicts you, or if your family struggles with conflict, then I will welcome you into a judgment-free space to receive care and compassion. I follow my clients in the way that suits them best. That could be through goal setting using strengths or processing life as it happens. I believe you are the boss.

Michael is gifted as a therapist. He works well with men who are in recovery, or needing help with life, marriage or communication skills. Michael counsels and coaches men who are on the Asperger’s and autism spectrum as well men in recovery from addictions. He is personable, professional. I highly recommend his work.
