Message to clients

I center our sessions around trust, connection, and mutual understanding. I am heavily informed by connecting our past experiences to our current thoughts, feelings, and sensations. I like to focus on building self-acceptance through a curious and compassionate lens. One of my beliefs about therapy is it is both evidenced based and an art. Using methods rooted in science while bringing lived experience and keen intuition into our sessions. I use a non-directive and process focused framework. Think of our sessions as if we are on a big road trip together. You are the driver and I am the navigator. We might take side trips that are shorter or longer and sometimes we might change the plans altogether. While I might have a greater sense of where we are going because of my training in mental health, you are the one who is in the driver’s seat. It's my responsibility to help you see what might be around the corner. Making this a highly collaborative process. I am gentle but firm. I will bring your unhelpful patterns to light while holding space for the parts of you that had to operate that way to keep you safe. We will team up to create a plan of action to meet your goals. As we move through our work together we will address any stagnation that may arise. I will always be honest with you if I feel we have hit a wall or need to change directions.

Nick is not only a highly compassionate and skilled therapist, but also a fantastic human. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a therapist they can connect with and trust, especially to work through trauma.

Nick is that rare combination of unflinching authenticity, gold start expertise, and truly incredible empathy. You can quickly notice how clear it is that they know and accept themselves which inherently gives you permission to do the same, even when that's difficult. There's also a strong parallel between the techniques they use with clients and how they understand the world at large, so its clear they truly embody the work they're doing in a very holistic way. Clients are getting the real deal: the full person for each session and that's rare.

Nick is a kind, thoughtful, and intelligent therapist. They are an expert at helping clients get to the root of their problems and using innovative methods such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and IFS to help clients feel better faster. If you like a therapist that tells it like it is, who is gentle but firm, and who is affirming of all intersections of identities, Nick is the therapist for you! I would highly recommend them to any client.
