About
Noni is a passionate mental health counselor based in Brooklyn, NY, with a deep love for reading tarot cards and a leisurely stroll through Prospect Park. Raised in a creative home surrounded by artists, she developed a love for old movies, jazz, and modern art, which continue to inspire her today. From the start, Noni knew she wanted to help others. However, a college course in positive psychology led her to explore the world of mental health—where she discovered her true calling in creating spaces for people to feel truly seen and supported. Noni holds a BS in Nutrition Studies from NYU, a minor in child psychology, and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. She focuses on empowering Black adolescent girls by boosting their self-esteem and supports sensitive adolescents & young adults of color dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, and relationship challenges. Her approach is person-centered, creative, and holistic.

Message to clients
Most of my teen clients feel that anxiety has consumed their whole lives. They also identify as perfectionistic, depressed, and lonely. They are very creative, an overachiever or an over-procrastinator, and an emotional sponge. They may have a difficult time focusing in school and prioritize their relationships. Since they feel so deeply, they tend to feel ashamed of their emotions and work towards being someone different. Through art-making, mindfulness and tarot cards, I will help you to to live with less anxiety and have more fun.

Noni is a very compassionate therapist coming from a feminist and trauma-informed lens and always wanting the best for her clients. She seeks consultation and training to ensure she is providing the best service she can. I would highly recommend Noni for Black or biracial teens and Black young adults. You are in great hands with her!!

She offers playful, creative approaches that encourage her clients to explore important topics like identity and relationships in a meaningful way. Rooted in feminist theory and guided by a multicultural framework, her work empowers teen girls to strengthen their self-understanding, step confidently into their full sense of self, and learn to express themselves in new, effective ways.

What strikes me about Noni is her incredible willingness to continue to grow and learn in her profession. I have observed her curiosity and humility when she seeks feedback from her peers to become an even more astute therapist. I notice that she always asks thoughtful questions with her client's well-being in mind. She is creative and brings unique skills to working with youth. I am confident that any parent looking for support for their teen will be lucky when their search for a warm therapist ends because they've found Noni on the Best Therapists directory.
