About
Paula Ulrich has been an art therapist and licensed counselor since 2014. Grief was her gateway into therapeutic art making after the death of her father when she was a young adult. Now she uses art therapy to support those who are grieving, especially after suicide loss. She knows how challenging this work can be and how helpful it is to have a guide along the path.
Paula also knows how to work with the complex intersections of people’s lives. From navigating grief in polyamory, exploring a non-religious approach to healing, or finding peace navigating grief after abuse, Paula can support clients in exploring the intersections of their lives that impact their grief. This includes work around anxiety, trauma, substance use, and LGBTQIA+ identity.
Paula’s approach is rooted in art therapy and Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) principles, weaving in nature-based experiences. Additionally, she recieves ongoing training in areas such as mindfulness meditation, grief therapy and suicide bereavement, gestalt therapy, ecotherapy, EMDR, and other trauma treatments.
Outside of therapy, Paula loves creating art, listening to music, writing, gardening, engaging in mindfulness practices, playing outside, and collecting things of all sorts (e.g., bugs, bones, books, and quirky antiques). She would love to get to know the various facets of your life as well, beyond the grief you hold.
