Samantha Potthoff, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and founder of the Therapy Collective of California. With nearly a decade of clinical experience, she specializes in helping individuals navigate emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, and the pursuit of personal balance. Samantha holds a B.A. in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California, where she developed a deep interest in the mind-body connection. Her early work in the medical field highlighted the intricate link between physical and mental health, inspiring her to earn an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In her therapeutic practice, Samantha employs a range of evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychodynamic approaches. She is particularly skilled in addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, chronic illness, grief, and relationship difficulties. Her approach is rooted in creating a safe, relational space where clients can explore the underlying causes of their struggles and work toward lasting change. Samantha practices in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, offering both in-person and telehealth sessions. She is dedicated to guiding clients toward greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and meaningful growth.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or simply yearning for something more—a deeper connection with yourself or others—you’re not alone. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I’m here to meet you wherever you are in your journey. I work best with individuals who are introspective, curious, and ready to explore the “why” behind their emotions and behaviors. You might be navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, chronic illness, or struggling in relationships—but underneath it all, you sense that there's more to uncover and understand. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both science and compassion. I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods, including DBT, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), always tailoring our work to meet your unique needs. I don’t believe in quick fixes, but in meaningful, sustainable growth rooted in self-awareness and emotional safety. Therapy with me isn’t just about symptom relief—it’s about getting to know yourself on a deeper level, breaking free from old patterns, and learning how to show up more fully in your life. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
