Theresa Rybchinski is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and an active member of the Alberta College of Social Workers. She holds a Master of Clinical Social Work degree, specializing in Addiction and Mental Health. With over seven years of experience in addiction and mental health, she has worked across diverse settings, including outpatient addiction centers, inpatient wilderness addiction treatment centers, Indigenous mental health programs, and harm reduction initiatives within Alberta Health Services (AHS) and non-profit organizations. As a somatic trauma therapist trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), Theresa’s approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and grounded in anti-oppressive practices. She deeply values the therapeutic relationship, striving to create a space of comfort, respect, and collaboration. In this environment, clients can explore their experiences, find meaning, build capacity, expand resilience, and move toward empowerment and healing. Theresa’s practice is further informed by Polyvagal Theory, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, and liberation psychology. Drawing on her training in yoga, mindfulness, and somatic practices, she combines professional expertise with lived experience to help you understand and regulate your unique nervous system.
